How StandFor Works

Create a structured claim, set a 1-4 week voting period, and choose a target vote count. A debate ends early when either side reaches 67% of the target.

Forecasts are future-facing questions. Users choose once, cannot switch, and administrators resolve the result when the event is known.

New users receive 30 Stand Passes at signup, stored as 300 internal pass_units. Creating a Debate or Forecast reserves 10 Stand Passes. Voting or joining a Forecast reserves 2 Stand Passes. Normal endings release Passes; violations may forfeit them.

If you want to create more posts while your Passes are reserved, buy more from Purchase Stand Passes. The purchase entry is also on Me and Account / Stand Passes. The default rate is $1 = 30 Stand Passes, unless the server rate is changed.

Standing measures reputation. Debate and Forecast outcomes use symmetric scoring: correct or winning participation gains 20, wrong or losing participation loses 20.

Honors are decided separately for each country, category, content type, and period. For example, an honor earned on the United States Debate leaderboard does not automatically apply to Canada or to Forecasts. Weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly honors use their own leaderboard windows and qualification thresholds.
